First and foremost, THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Abakus had a terrific turnout this past Saturday and we owe it all to YOU GUYS! Thanks to all of our friends and family helping us out along the way! Thanks also go out to our vendors for being able to stock us in time for the big day! For everyone that made the trip from Boston, to NY, to MD, and TX(!), Thank You! The DJ's definitely helped turned the party out and we hope that everyone enjoyed the music as much as we did. Many thanks go out to the Sinthesis team for hosting yet another fantastic after party!

If you haven't stopped by to check out the shop yet, STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND COME BY RIGHT NOW! Wait, we close at 8 on Wednesdays so, STOP BY BEFORE 8! A Countless number of Chinatown patrons have stopped dead in their tracks due to catching glimpse of our succulent roast duck displays! Watching everyone and their reactions have kept us amused for hours. We're waiting for the Food Inspector to come knocking on our door about the health hazards of hanging sneakers next to roast ducks.

By the end of this week, we will have a bundle of new stupid fresh apparel and kicks, so be sure to stop by again! Our female section is nearly completely sold out! We will be restocking our shelves within the next couple of weeks and also look forward to picking up many more labels, so stop by soon! In the meantime please enjoy the pics! ABAKUS TAKEOUT will open its doors for business on SATURDAY, MAY 10th @ 12:00pm!!!

The day will start off with FIRECRACKERS and LION DANCES in front of the store...then it will lead inside where we'll have 2 DJs spinning nothing but Hip Hop while you get to shop for some fresh gear and enjoy some Chinese Take-Out!!!!

Abakus – The Beginning

We definitely weren’t trying to become just another store. Not another store with white walls, black floors, and Ikea furniture. Some racks with some T’s, a register, and a stockroom. Greet, smile, and sell. It wasn’t like that.

We wanted something with a deeper meaning. A location rooted in culture selling nostalgia in a bottle. A clothing store—a hangout spot—a sneaker shop—but where?? Where would we be? Chinatown. A place to come to just hang out. Anyone, could come to hang out. Chat’n Max’n Relaxin. But with a twist. Located in the heart of Chinatown we had to have a concept. A theme that no one else had. One that fit into the community and at the same time stood out, subliminally. On the cut. That’s exclusive right? Sike.

Conclusion? Abakus Take Out.

The theme? Chinese Take Out. Another restaurant in Chinatown!?! What’re you thinking?

“Another duck house? On 10th Street?!? Wasn’t that place a duck house before? 15 years ago? There was a table right here. This is where you ordered…so on and etc,.”

Ahhh. So, that’s how its gonna be.
